Chain O lakes Bar and Grill.

The last week has been busy for me. Three jobs. Lost of driving. Not alot of time at home. As most know I started working for my friends who started a bar ans restaurant in Waupaca called Chain O Lakes Bar and Grill. They are three guys who have a wealth of knowledge in the field of bars and restaurants. Together Trent Shawn and Chris have a combined 40 years of experience...And Chris is a damn good cook.

This is the three of them using that 40 years of experiance:) Just kidding! Opening night cheers! And this is Chris working in the kitchen. I know I already posted it but..I like it!:)

So this is a new experience for me. I walked into the place on Monday afternoon last week and was blown away by the amount of work that needed to be done....In three days ( they opening on the 22nd) Cleaning painting..everything. I have never really worked in a kitchen. I have cooked at home and flipped some burgers when I worked at a golf course. I have learned alot since Thursday last week when they opened. It has been fun seeing 3 guys who have this dream make it happen. It has been fun being a part of it. The food is good the drinks are good and the people are good...pretty awesome combination. I invite everyone to come down and try the Aspen Gyro...or the awesome Friday Fish Fry that is served every day! ( or try shrimp to!) Stop in have a drink grab some food say hi to the guys and check it out. You may ask why I am writing this ...when this is supposed to be about photos! Well I have tried to document it with photos during the cleanup and reopening. They are not really artistic but Document a pretty cool thing. So I will post some here. Again come out and check out the place! The newest smoke free bar and grill in Waupaca! Located on the Strip in King( hwy QQ).

Bar all cleaned up!

Before. ( During remodeling and cleaning)

After. ( opening day)

Memorial Day

I wanted to post this picture. I did not take it but here is the story behind it.

"Memorial Day At Arlington" Mary McHugh mourns her slain fiance Sgt. James Regan at the Arlington National Cemetery May 27, 2007, Memorial Day weekend. Regan, a U.S. Army Ranger from Long Island, was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq in February, and this was the first time McHugh had visited the grave since the funeral. When he died, Regan was on his fourth combat deployment since 9/11.

Think about what we are doing....thanks to all our veterans.

Busy Busy Busy...

Sorry no updates. been busy with three jobs and what not. Had off yesterday which was nice but I am still tired and sore. Went on Friday and saw a band called the Wandering Sons play at the Indian Crossing Casino. Here is a few photos...Yippie!

Chain O Lakes Bar and Grill

Well last night my friends new bar and grill opened up here. I helped in the kitchen..its a adventure but it was a good turn out. Little sore today. I am a guy used to sitting behind a desk not standing on my feet for 7 hours. Here is a picture of Chris who is in charge of the kitchen, one of the owners and what not and a good friend.
And another cool picture from Hawaii!

On a sad side note. I had a friend and coworker who last week Thursday was in a bad bicycle accident while training for a race. He has some severe injuries including being paralyzed from the waist down. He is 22 and a great guy. Please keep him and his family in your prayers and thoughts.

OK well no theme today. Just some photos for your enjoyment. I have no Idea stuff to write so feel free to leave comments and what not! First one is Dan Mitchell. Great Musician.

This one is of a tree up on Mauna Loa on the Big Island or Hawaii.

This is at South Point on the Big Island. The Southern most point in the U.S. Don't let Key West fool you!
Leaf with raindrops...discuss....:)

Also. Took a side trip when in the Dells to the H.H. Bennett Studio and History Center on the main drag in downtown Wisconsin Dells. H.H. Bennett was a pioneering photographer and based most of his work around the Dells. He opened a studio there in 1875 and you can now take a tour of it as it was then. Was still used to around 1992 using the same techniques he used in the 1800s. Its awesome. He was the inventor of the stop action shutter...which is kinda a big deal!:) No one believed him about it. At the time back then they had to have people sit completely still for 3 or so minutes to take a picture. No one believed this shutter was real..SO H.H. Bennett and his son went to stand rock. And H.H. Bennett took a picture of his son jumping onto stand rock and sent the picture around the world to prove his point. People were amazed by it! Someone seemly suspended in air! Anyway its amazing and defiantly worth a stop in the Dells.

Here is that famous photo. Also tomorrow is the opening of the newest bar in King/Waupaca Wisconsin. The Chain O Lakes Bar and Grill! You should all come check it out. Oso Beer tasting tomorrow night and live music Saturday and Sunday nights! Its gonna be fun! Thanks everyone. Have a great day!
